Languedoc Solidarity with Refugees (LSR) was informally formed in 2015 on the initiative of a small group of people who decided to act together in the face of the distress of refugee families who had arrived in the Béziers-Pézenas region.

Very quickly the association gave itself the means to provide food aid, but also help with housing and the vital needs of destitute families waiting for an asylum seeker status in partnership with the Cimade of Béziers

At the same time, LSR continues to organise the sending of blankets, clothes, tents etc. to places where there are large concentrations of migrants in France (Paris, Calais, Italian border...)

Volunteers from the Minervois joined the association in 2017 and started to provide regular food aid once a month to refugee families living in Carcassonne, in collaboration with the local Cimade group in Carcassonne.

A collective based in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude joined the Minervois collective to complete the food aid to refugee families in Carcassonne.
